Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Director of Venues, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service and assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way, Follow departmental policies, procedures and carry out other duties as assigned
- Perform opening, cleaning and closing duties and service standards and project a pleasant and positive professional image to guests at all times
- Sell and up-sell menu and beverage items in a positive, professional manner
- Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods & adhere to the hotel's food handling and safety policies while serving guests.
- Report any irregularities or comments from guests to supervisors and leadership
- Other duties as assigned
- Physical Aspect of the Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
- Your experience and skills include:
- 1 year a-la-carte serving experience required in the last 5 years
- Pro Serve certification required
- Previous point of sale system experience an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Candidates must be legal to serve alcohol in Alberta (18 years of age) and must possess ProServe certification
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents
