Job Description: Summary: The Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) Manager will be responsible for developing new, and implementing existing, company HSE programs. The HSE Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) . The HSE Manager will verify program effectiveness by participating in routine audits, inspections, and investigations. This position is responsible for coordinating health and safety training for all employees. The HSE Manager will mentor all personnel to perform observations to reinforce positive behaviors and correct at-risk behaviors. The position is obligated to stop the job when there is an imminent hazard to the health and well-being of employees, and to protect company property and the environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manages the maintenance and implementation of safety programs, compliance plans, and initiatives related to the I-66 Safety Plan to ensure that a safe, healthy, and secure work environment exists for all Assesses and identifies issues by reviewing and analyzing the effectiveness of the safety and health program; Review s Safety Plan documentation; conducts relevant audits to ensure compliance Directly supports the CEO and HSEQ Director to implement effective policies , procedures and initiatives. Understand s and appropriately influence s company strategy as related to HSE compliance and program implementation . Works with executive management to define goals to reduce accidents and incidents at the workplace Evaluates contractual Environmental requirements and environmental regulations to ensure environmental compliance is maintained Mentors safety team members Manages the safety management system Manages the confines space permit program Facilitates various meetings like CEO safety meeting, ops safety meetings, all hands safety meetings. Establishes Contractor Management; reviews safety programs and training before sub-contractors are allowed to work; ensures Contractors receive an Orientation Supports the training manager in Safety training requirements Issues safety messages company wide Conducts safety reporting to shareholders quarterly and OSHA reporting annually Conducts Safety onboarding for new hires Conducts periodic, documented safety inspections of worksites to identify and correct unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
