About the role

Founded in 2021, Axion is at the forefront of transforming product quality and customer satisfaction in manufacturing. Our cutting-edge AI-powered platform empowers manufacturers to swiftly identify, thoroughly investigate, and effectively resolve quality issues while simultaneously elevating customer experiences and outcomes. As trailblazers in end-to-end quality intelligence, we're setting new industry standards. Our innovative approach enables industrial, aerospace, consumer, and medtech manufacturers to harness the power of quality and post-market data, driving down costs and boosting business performance. Our vision extends beyond mere problem-solving; we're committed to reshaping the future of manufacturing. By seamlessly integrating advanced AI technology with deep industry expertise, Axion is paving the way for smarter, safer, and more efficient production processes across diverse sectors. Backed by leading investors, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Amplo, Boeing, and RTX Ventures, Axion is poised to lead the quality revolution in manufacturing. We're looking for a Product Manager to lead a growing team responsible for building the agents that evolve the Axion platform. You'll work in close collaboration with our Engineering, Design, Solutions, and Operations teams. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for the frontier of AI - particularly autonomous agents and multi-step reasoning systems - and is energized by the challenge of applying these capabilities to real-world problems in manufacturing and product quality. You thrive in early-stage environments, move fast without breaking things, and know how to turn ambiguous AI capabilities into reliable, enterprise-grade product experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Axion's agentic systems - the AI-driven workflows that autonomously detect issues, investigate root causes, and surface insights across our customers' product data
  • Partner with Engineering and AI/ML teams to design and ship agentic pipelines that reason across heterogeneous data sources - from telematics and field data to customer complaints and service records
  • Define how agents should orchestrate tasks, when to escalate to humans, and how to make agentic outputs explainable and trustworthy for enterprise manufacturing teams
  • Collaborate with customers, Solutions, and Operations to understand the workflows our agents need to augment or replace, and translate those needs into clear product requirements
  • Build the short and long-term roadmap for agentic tooling by integrating customer feedback, emerging AI research, internal data, and strategic initiatives to continuously expand Axion's platform capabilities
  • Measure the impact of agentic features on key outcomes - investigation speed, issue detection rates, warranty cost reduction - and iterate based on what you learn
  • Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to guide prioritization and ensure product development remains focused and high-impact
  • Get the job done while keeping the big picture firmly in mind

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Product Management experience with at least 1-2 years working on Agentic solutionsL or automation-heavy products; preferably in B2B SaaS products
  • Deep familiarity with the agentic AI landscape - LLM orchestration, tool use, multi-step reasoning, human-in-the-loop design, and agent reliability challenges
  • Experience translating complex AI and data system capabilities into intuitive, high-value product experiences for non-technical enterprise users
  • Attention to UX and a user-first mentality, with the ability to balance delivery of cutting-edge AI capabilities with the practical needs of industrial customers
  • Detail-oriented and thorough; you're a proactive self-starter who can effectively juggle multiple projects in a highly fluid work environment
  • A strong executor in fast-paced environments who can ship MVPs without losing sight of the long-term product vision
  • A firm believer in a "Data First" philosophy with the ability to make confident decisions in ambiguous situations
  • Collaborator and team player with experience leading cross-functional teams and excellent communication skills
  • Experience at a venture-backed startup
  • You're a builder and operator who thrives in fast-moving, high-accountability environments. You take pride in getting things done - thoughtfully, efficiently, and without drama. You're energized by ambiguity, skilled at bringing clarity, and comfortable flexing between strategy and execution.
  • You don't need constant direction - you create momentum. You take ownership for outcomes
