Job Description: Accountabilities: The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar duties to the listed below: Community & Family Services: Responsible for the overall operations of the Community Garden Program including planning, planting, tending and harvesting. Create and promote educational opportunities surrounding gardening, the use of the community garden and other food literacy topics. Head up the collection, rotation and usage of Food Reclamation Program. Work to expand the program to other grocers/food related businesses in the area. Distribute food assistance through the Food Bank as per current operational policies. Organise and supervise receipt of food donations, recording, tidiness and safety of all areas used. Organise and help to maintain the cleanliness of all areas used by the Community and Family Services, and other areas. Under the direction of the Community Ministries Director, assist with the delivery and creation of new programs and services in the community as identified. Network with referral agencies and/or other community sources of assistance, as required Provide Emergency Disaster Services as part of a team. Administration: Input data into Second Harvest in a timely manner. Maintain confidentiality and keep accurate participant files and statistical records. Conduct all administrative duties as outlined with due diligence. Follow direction on the compliance and adherence to Operating Policies and Procedures (i.e. gift cards, vouchers etc.) Ability to tell the Ministry Units story through Social Media platforms.
