The Accounting Manager/Senior Manager will be responsible for maintaining the shadow books and records for open-end funds and separately managed accounts as well as reporting to internal groups at Oaktree including the PMs of the fund.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparing and maintaining the books and records of open-ended commingled funds, separately managed accounts and Luxembourg SICAVs;
Overseeing the daily NAV, cash and position reconciliation process for an open-ended fund
Oversee the work of junior team members, including reviewing their work and providing on the job training
Support cash break resolution
Support position/asset break resolution
Reviewing management fees prepared by the fund administrator or junior team members, as appropriate
Assess and process journal entries for the accrual of expenses
Recording and reconciling of purchase and sale transactions;
Recording capital activity as required
Assist with the accounting and recording for complex corporate actions;
Estimating and posting of monthly closing accruals;
Preparation and review of financial statements
Preparing quarterly corporate reporting, templates, etc. (4-pagers, FAS 157, SOI)
Coordinating with funds and separately managed accounts' independent auditors, custodians, and administrators;
Assist in expense analysis, corporate expense reimbursement, expense cap tracking,
Wire payment preparation and communication
Preparing and/or assisting with the preparation of various ad-hoc requests from client services and the investment teams;
Preparation of key inputs into compliance system for AIFMD Reporting and Form PF
Assist in communication and setup of new funds on the various accounting, marketing, performance, and trading systems
Assist in internal and external audit confirmation responses.
Ensuring compliance with key financial reporting controls and ensuring that evidentiary matter is appropriately documented to comply with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley;
Participating with fund-related efficiency and automation projects;
Performing other tasks as required.
Requirements
Minimum 8 - 12 years relevant accounting or audit experience within Big Four public accounting or a mix of public accounting and investment management industry experience;
Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis;
Excellent understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant [investment company] accounting rules;
Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems;
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word;
Experience with Geneva and/or Geneva World Investor accounting systems is a plus; and
Experience with PowerBI, Alteryx, or other data analytical tools is a plus.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA a plus.
