See yourself in our team: The Technology and Operations (Tech & Ops) Risk team is responsible for providing specialist Operational Risk and Compliance (OR&C) advice, assurance and acceptance/approval of decisions made by Line 1 Technology. Do work that matters: The purpose of the role is to lead the Operational Risk support function for Artificial Intelligence security and secure engineering, providing independent Line 2 advice, assurance and approval/acceptance over the cyber, technology and resilience risks arising from the design, deployment and operation of AI, advanced data analytics and automation capabilities. Key responsibilities for this role includes: Technical: Building and managing a Line 2 function of professional SMEs to provide independent, pragmatic and value adding Ops Risk advice, assurance and approval/acceptance for AI security, secure engineering and Analytics risks across the portfolio including subsidiaries (in line with Line 2 FAR accountabilities). Providing independent challenge and assurance over the security of AI and machine learning systems - including model and data security, identity and access, secure-by-design engineering, and the management of adversarial threats such as data poisoning, model evasion and prompt injection across the AI lifecycle. Partnering with Cyber Security, Technology and Engineering teams to embed secure development, threat modelling and control assurance into AI and analytics pipelines, aligned to recognised frameworks (such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and MITRE ATLAS ). Working across the team to design, build and implement AI and analytics capabilities to support the Technology and Operations Risk team to simplify and automate our processes. Ensuring the appropriate identification, escalation and reporting of all related AI security, secure engineering and Analytics matters to the relevant stakeholders, including the relevant NFRCs, your GM and to the Technology and Operations CRO. Management style: Provide thought leadership for Line 2 risk management and assurance activities, analytics, and reporting. Encourage a culture of learning and collaboration. Inspire, motivate and engage team members to achieve business objectives. Develop a cross-skilled and curious team that can support a range of areas both analytically and commercially, speaking up and ensuring appropriate Line 2 oversight. Attract, develop and retain team members, and provide them with quality opportunities for education, exposure and experience. We're interested in hearing from people who have: Advanced artificial intelligence, data analytics and automation capability skill base, underpinned by a strong understanding of cyber security and secure engineering principles. Sound knowledge of cyber security, secure software engineering and cloud/platform controls, and how these apply to AI and machine learning systems. Familiarity with AI and security risk frameworks (such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and MITRE ATLAS) and emerging regulatory expectations for AI. Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity, link risks to business strategy and stay across external trends. An experienced and committed leader who understands operational risk management practices and has an ability to influence and engage pragmatically as a trusted partner.
