Major Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a liaison between employees, supervisors, and leadership on Employee and Labor Relations matters Conduct and manage workplace investigations, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, hostile work environment, misconduct, and other policy violations Lead investigations as a part of the professional staff disciplinary review process, partnering with leadership to ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance with applicable policies and employment laws Advise and coach supervisors on disciplinary actions, performance management, attendance issues, and policy interpretation Manage and respond to complaints, grievances, and informal concerns in a timely and professional manner Oversee and manage ADA and ADAAA accommodation requests, including conducting interactive processes and coordinating documentation Monitor and maintain the department's lactation room locations to ensure compliance with legal requirements and cleanliness standards Coordinate with payroll and HRIS teams to ensure accurate leave and payroll processing for employees on administrative leave or suspension Develop and deliver training to supervisors and managers on HR policies, employee relations best practices, conflict resolution, and leadership responsibilities Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and create standard and ad-hoc reports for leadership Collaborate with HR leadership on cross-functional projects and department-wide initiatives Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as City of Charlotte and CMPD policies Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive personnel matters This position may also be assigned supervisory responsibilities based on operational needs and organizational structure Perform other duties as assigned
