The Fund Accounting Manager will supervise and execute tasks related to maintaining the books and records, reporting, and auditing for a diverse portfolio of investment funds, including open-end funds, closed-end funds, collateralized loan obligation portfolios (CLOs), and risk retention vehicles. This role will ensure compliance with international accounting standards and regulatory requirements, while facilitating communication with internal teams and external service providers, such as third-party administrators, custodians, directors, legal and tax. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities: Portfolio Oversight and Reconciliation: Supervise the monthly and quarterly closing process, including pricing, management fee calculations, expense accruals, and portfolio activity reconciliation with custodial and counterparty records. Conduct daily cash and position reconciliations, resolve discrepancies with custodians, administrators, and counterparties, and address complex corporate actions. Ensure books and records accurately reflect purchase and sale transactions, trade par, and cash reconciliations for CLOs. Compliance and Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with U.S. and U.K. GAAP, IFRS, and investment company accounting rules (when applicable). Coordinate regulatory filings, including AIFMD Annex IV, Form PF, ADV reporting, CRS, and corporate tax reporting. Evaluate fund and client-specific performance metrics (e.g., XIRR and TWR). Audit and Efficiency Execution: Coordinate annual financial statement audits and fieldwork with external auditors. Support fund-related automation and efficiency initiatives, ensuring adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards. Client Fund Activity Management: Calculate income and expense allocations, update distribution waterfalls, and track cash forecasting for loan-to-value ratio and borrowing limits. Prepare borrowing notices and funding memos for corporate-related activity. Manage fund openings, closings, client drawdowns, and distributions, ensuring smooth communication between stakeholders. Cash and Expense Analysis: Support expense analysis, corporate expense reimbursement tracking, waterfall invoice preparation, and wire payment execution. Oversee corporate actions related to delayed compensation, cost of carry, amendment fees, and PIK interest amongst others. Support and Collaboration: Monitor work performed by third-party administrators and custodians, ensuring accuracy and quality control. Respond to ad-hoc queries from client services and internal teams and implement setups for new funds and CLOs across accounting, marketing, performance, and trading systems. Experience Required Minimum 8+ years relevant accounting or audit experience within Big Four public accounting or a mix of public accounting and investment management industry experience; Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis; Excellent understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting rules; Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; Experience with Geneva and/or Geneva World Investor accounting systems is a plus; Experience with PowerBI, Alteryx, or other data analytical tools is a plus.
