Conducts market analysis through research on supplier capabilities, market trends, and pricing models, and benchmarks current pricing and supplier performance against industry standards to identify areas for improvement.
Brings proven expertise in strategic sourcing, contract management, negotiation, and contract execution to successfully deliver category objectives
Demonstrates strong presentation skills and effectively communicates with senior leadership and cross-functional business stakeholders
Value & Cost Optimization
Identifies and implements value chain improvements to maximize cost efficiency with a focus on added value delivery

Position Overview:
As a key member of Motiva's Supply Chain team, the Category Manager - Rotating Equipment , plays a crucial role in leading the Rotating Equipment Category, including pumps, compressors, turbines, mechanical seals, motors, and related services. The role is responsible for sourcing strategy development, procurement execution, supplier and stakeholder relationship management, and continuous improvement to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective material availability for Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex operations.
This position collaborates closely with Maintenance, Turnaround, Reliability, Engineering, Warehouse Operations, and Motiva's Supply Chain (SC) team to enhance value delivery, optimize third-party spend, ensure supply continuity, and drive process excellence. The Category Manager ensures Supply Chain is positioned as a strategic, value-adding business partner by proactively engaging stakeholders and suppliers, championing sourcing initiatives, and implementing Motiva's Supply Chain policies, processes, procedures, and best practices. This position reports to Manager, Materials Category Management and sits in the Indirect & Materials Category team.
