Serve as a key operational partner to the VP of U.S. Communications & Government Affairs. Drive alignment and connectivity across US CGA and other relevant USC functions (Market Access, US Medical, etc.)

Lead execution of near, medium, and long-term projects and strategic initiatives across the US CGA function and ensure close coordination with other USC and Global functions;

Partner with functional leaders to translate enterprise and business priorities into coordinated functional strategies and execution plans.

Identify opportunities to improve collaboration, decision-making, information flow, and organizational effectiveness across the function.

Lead execution of cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects on behalf of the leadership team.
Operational Excellence

Establish and manage core business rhythms, including leadership team meetings, strategic planning processes, annual goal setting, budget coordination, and operating reviews.

Build scalable operational processes, governance models, and reporting mechanisms that improve execution, transparency, and accountability across the function.

Oversee tracking of strategic priorities, milestones, risks, and action items to ensure timely execution and follow-through.

Develop dashboards, metrics, and performance reporting to provide visibility into functional priorities and organizational health.

Facilitate leadership team decision-making through structured problem solving, synthesis of complex information, and actionable recommendations.
Build strong partnerships across Commercial, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Corporate Affairs, and Executive Leadership teams.

Act as a central coordination point for enterprise initiatives impacting Communications & Government Affairs.

Ensure clear communication, accountability, and alignment among internal stakeholders and external-facing teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 10 years of total working experience in any combination of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, public affairs, communications, government affairs, or related disciplines
Experience supporting senior executives and leadership teams in highly matrixed organizations
Experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and operational improvement efforts
Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
Proven executive communication and presentation development experience
Ability to travel up to 20%

Position Summary
The Director, Strategic Enablement serves as a key operational and thought partner to the Head of U.S. Communications & Government Affairs, helping drive alignment, execution, and operational excellence across a complex and highly matrixed organization. He/she will serve in an operations-focused role supporting the US CGA leadership team (LT) and working closely with members of the LT to ensure seamless coordination and integration across the function. The Director will proactively lead the execution of strategic initiatives within the US CGA Function. This role is designed to ensure seamless coordination and integration across US CGA LT (Product, Patient & Internal Comms, Ecosystem Strategy, Public Policy, State and Federal Government Affairs).
The ideal candidate will act as the connective tissue across the function - establishing business rhythms, driving enterprise prioritization, improving cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring strategic initiatives are executed effectively and consistently. This individual will operate as a trusted advisor to the US CGA LT, balancing strategic thinking with strong operational discipline and organizational leadership.
This role requires a highly organized and thoughtful leader who can navigate ambiguity, drive alignment among senior stakeholders, and elevate the effectiveness and impact of USC CGA. He/she will be a strategic operator who can connect strategy to execution while operating at both levels.
