Document, communicate and monitor internal and external timelines required to guarantee renewal or new sale implementation success for the defined market segment.
Ensure that producer and/or employer group data submissions are accurate, complete and meets the assigned deadlines.
May work with Underwriting and other internal departments to develop alternative benefit quotes, request revisions, obtain explanation of rate action, and approval of effective date.
Attend or conduct employee meetings and/or benefit fairs.
Research and resolve producer and group level service issues. Provide support to others within the team on more complex service issues; providing resolution and root cause analysis.
Maintain appropriate sales systems including account info, quoting business, generating proposals, renewal exhibits and accurate reporting.
Assist with departmental and corporate projects.
May participate in system User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements.

Requirements
Associate's degree or two (2) years' work experience (Required).
Three (3) years of work experience (Required) which includes:
Two (2) years of experience in sales, benefit enrollment, benefit administration, or a related area (Required).
One (1) year of customer service experience (Required).
Possess or obtain Agent's license within 60 days of hire and appointed with Office of Insurance Commissioner or DOI (Required).
A Bachelors degree.
Knowledge of Premera products, operations, policies and underwriting guidelines.
Experience with Seibel or other CRM applications helpful but not required.
Three (3) years of benefit administration, enrollment and/or sales account structure experience.

The Account Specialist position contributes to Premera's success by coordinating and participating in the necessary activities to sell new business and/or retain existing business across multiple regions. The Account Specialist is responsible for partnering with New Sales and Account Management team to ensure that the documents, processes, procedures, systems and timelines are met during sale and set-up. The Account Specialist furnishes personalized, proactive, preemptive and reactive customer support and service ensuring Premera's client groups have a positive customer experience. The Account Specialist is expected to manage a large number of complex transactions, must be comfortable with deadlines and have experience working cross-functionally. This role is generally assigned to small and/or medium size groups or to accounts requiring a moderate level of service.
