The Fire Alarm Test & Inspect Senior Technician is a role responsible for independently performing complex inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems. This position demonstrates strong technical proficiency, consistent independent performance, and may provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians. The Senior Technician ensures all work is completed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Independently perform inspections, testing, and advanced troubleshooting of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes. Execute complex system testing including integrated system functionality and sequence of operations verification. Accurately document inspection, testing, and deficiency reports in compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Diagnose system issues and perform repairs or recommend corrective actions. Interpret blueprints, system designs, and technical specifications. Provide guidance, training, and support to Apprentices and Technicians as needed. Review work for accuracy and completeness to ensure quality and compliance. Communicate effectively with customers, AHJs, and internal teams regarding system status and deficiencies. Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory necessary for job completion. Ensure adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and company standards. Travel to job sites as required. Other duties as assigned by management. Education/Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician. Must have a minimum of three years programming commercial fire alarm systems. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of fire alarm inspection, testing, and troubleshooting. Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable local and state codes. Ability to read and interpret complex system drawings and specifications. Proven ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in the field. NICET Level II or above preferred. May hold applicable state or local licenses. Demonstrates independent performance and strong functionality in core technical skills. Capable of completing jobs independently without supervision. Must have a clean driving record and an active driver's license (if driving role). Other Duties: Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Physical Requirements: Work performed in commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites. Use of advanced testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and hand tools. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and climbing ladders. Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
