The successful candidate for this role is engaging, highly detailed, and is open to learning and leading by example, responds in a professional and courteous manner to guests and team, as well as being there to support the team both personally and professionally. The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of guests and employees and the property. This includes supporting other department activities to help assure the highest levels of guest and employee service. This position will work primarily the 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm shift but there must be availability to work weekends and holidays as needed. Your Role: Enforce company policies fairly and consistently to maintain high standards and accountability. When needed, i n terviews persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalisms, accidents, illness, violations of policies, and any other loss related events . Patrols hotel areas to detect/report and/or control fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment. Warns or ejects troublemakers and cautions careless p ersons . Responds to, controls, provides and obtains assistance for victims of accidents and/or illness. Also reports on such in documentation. Notifies staff of presence of p ersons with questionable reputations. Assists management and law enforcement officers in emergency situations. Controls all situations in a calm, professional, and hospitable manner. Completes daily logs and incident reports. Follows lost and found procedures. Conducts daily key inventories and reports and variances. Responds to alarm notifications. Assists with emergency/evacuation training and processes. Perform other duties and functions as assigned . What are we looking for? High School diploma or GED. One year of security experience . Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, supervisors and fellow employees. Must be able to use appropriate judgment in determining situations requiring immediate/emergency response and action. Able to carry and move items weighing up to 50 pounds . Attention to detail. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.
