Position Summary: We are looking for a Product Management Manager to join the Payer Solutions team within the Interoperability Zone at athenahealth in Chennai. About the Team: The Interoperability Zone drives growth and creates meaningful insights from diverse healthcare data sources by enabling scaled global integrations. The team plays a critical strategic role in advancing a connected healthcare ecosystem through interoperability solutions. The Payer Solutions team focuses on payer-provider collaboration, interoperability workflows, and operational tooling that support healthcare efficiency and value-based care initiatives. The team works closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and external stakeholders to deliver innovative healthcare technology solutions. Essential Job Responsibilities: Drive product strategy, roadmap execution, and delivery for payer interoperability and Value-Based Care initiatives. Define features, epics, user stories, and business requirements with a strong focus on customer outcomes and user experience. Prioritize product backlogs and make trade-off decisions between scope, schedule, and business value. Collaborate with scrum teams to deliver scalable interoperability solutions and platform capabilities. Become a subject matter expert in healthcare interoperability, payer-provider workflows, and regulatory requirements. Foster an API-first mindset and execution approach across product and engineering teams. Partner with stakeholders across business, technology, and customer-facing teams to align product priorities. Use data, metrics, and customer insights to drive product decisions and continuous improvement. Additional Job Responsibilities: Support payer onboarding and integration readiness initiatives. Drive electronic prior authorization (ePA) workflow enhancements and adoption. Ensure compliance with healthcare interoperability regulations, including CMS mandates and the 21st Century Cures Act. Monitor industry trends related to HL7 FHIR, healthcare interoperability, and payer-provider data exchange. Collaborate with architects and engineering teams on complex technical and integration challenges. Identify opportunities for automation, self-service capabilities, and AI-enabled solutions. Recommend ongoing product enhancements to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. Contribute to tooling and processes that support operational scale, visibility, and exception management. Expected Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Business, or a related field. Minimum 8+ years of Product Management, Product Ownership, or relevant Engineering experience. Strong experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in complex business environments. Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD, and healthcare integrations. Prior experience working with healthcare payers, payer interoperability, electronic prior authorization (ePA), Risk Adjustment, or Quality Reporting is highly preferred. Strong understanding of Agile product management practices, backlog prioritization, roadmap planning, and product delivery. Ability to engage deeply in technical discussions with architects and engineering teams, leveraging data and metrics for decision-making; exposure to AI-driven development and automation capabilities is a plus.
