As part of that change, we are now looking for a HEAD OF SOLUTIONS, INFLIGHT & FLIGHTOPS to join Finnair's Digital Operations team in Finnair HQ near Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Digital Operations plays a crucial role in supporting Finnair's operational units and shaping the digital foundation that enables safety, punctuality, efficiency, resilience and high‑quality operations. As Head of Solutions, Inflight & FlightOps, you will enable safe, reliable and efficient inflight operations and flight operations through coherent, value‑driven digital solutions. You own the digital solution domains for Inflight and FlightOps, ensuring clarity, prioritisation and long‑term direction. Acting as a tactical partner to operational leadership, you translate operational needs, regulatory requirements and improvement opportunities into actionable, future‑ready development portfolios and investment decisions. Across both domains, you bring structure and service‑design‑driven insight to complex operational environments. You incorporate service design practices to understand frontline workflows and shape a long‑term roadmap that leverages emerging data and AI capabilities. You ensure development aligns with Digital-wide architecture, engineering and security standards and that solutions remain fit for purpose in both stable and disrupted operational contexts. Your tasks include but are not limited to: Drive the Inflight and FlightOps digital roadmap, ensuring operational priorities, safety requirements and regulatory needs translate into a coherent, strategic portfolio. Develop inflight and flight operations solutions that support safe, reliable and intuitive user-centric workflows, reducing cognitive load and strengthening operational performance. Structure and lead the development backlog across Inflight and FlightOps, ensuring initiatives are well‑defined, prioritised, approved and initiated with clear value. Apply service‑design methods to capture crew and operator insights and turn them into future‑ready development roadmaps enriched with emerging data and AI capabilities. Ensure system compliance and robustness, including operational safety requirements and Digital‑wide architecture, engineering, security and data standards. Strengthen operational resilience by ensuring inflight and FlightOps systems are stable, scalable and effective in both normal and disrupted operational scenarios. Provide clear visibility of dependencies, risks and trade‑offs, enabling informed tactical decision‑making with operational stakeholders. Required skills: Experience in airline operations or frontline aviation roles (e.g., pilot, cabin crew, or comparable positions). Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. information technology, engineering, business) is considered an advantage. Proven track record in solution ownership, portfolio leadership and senior stakeholder collaboration, ideally in operational or safety‑critical environments. Ability to combine operational insight with strategic thinking, shaping long‑term digital landscapes that increasingly leverage data and emerging AI capabilities in complex, regulated domains. Strong co-operation and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment. Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse teams.
