Job Requisition JR23997 Worker Time Type Full time Worker Sub-Type Regular Shift Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: The DOT Compliance Generalist is responsible for assisting in the administering of Reddy Ice fleet safety programs, including compliance with DOT requirements. This position assists in developing and is to be a champion in fostering a culture of fleet safety. Strategically deploys and processes actionable data from safety telematics, helps to achieve FMCSA Compliance through coaching; training and assists operations as well as other team members in developing a team of fleet safety leaders. This role is also responsible for administering the post-accident DOT drug and alcohol testing process. Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees, and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: DOT / FMCSA Compliance Manage Electronic Logging Device (ELD) System as the Administrator Subject Matter Expert in Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and Telematics Systems Assist Operations in investigating and assigning unassigned truck moves. Assist Operations in tracking and reporting incomplete monthly inspections to managers and supervisors. Address safety non-conformance and violations/incidents with the drivers & their managers Assist in maintaining and filing DOT records such as DQ Files (file/purge according to regulation) Maintains and updates fleet safety training materials, in conjunction with Senior Manager Fleet Safety as well as other team members. Maintains and oversees CSA reporting and accuracy of CSA scores. Track/file DOT Roadside Stop Inspection activities and documents accident reporting activities Facilitates continuing safety training and education programs. Investigate Hours of Service infractions/violations Assists in developing a Safety Focused Culture Supports locations in prioritizing fleet safety initiatives. Strategically leverages telematics to achieve safety objectives by creating dashboards, regular reports, and ad hoc reports upon request. Develops actionable safety and compliance programs based on data analysis. Supports Field Leadership by assisting with questions and troubleshooting efforts in telematics dashboard. Supports execution of safety meetings, truck rodeos, driver observations, ride-alongs, and other options to reward safe driving behavior. Supports development of safety goals and measurement Monitors safety initiatives and recommend improvements. Communicates potential safety shortfalls to Field Leadership & Field Risk Managers Passionate about decreasing vehicle accidents, vehicle incidents and workers compensation claim incidents. Monitors safety/telematics inventory and ensures any requested material is distributed to locations in a timely manner. Manages post-accident drug and alcohol testing processes. Coordinates with field management and Risk Management to manage and communicate positive test results. Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Limited travel: on-call availability, weekend and evening work may be required. Must hold a valid driver's license with an acceptable MVR. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 2+ years of DOT safety/compliance experience mandatory Must have a good working knowledge of FMCSA Hours of Service Regulations and State and Federal DOT rules and regulations. L
