In this role, you will partner with business and technology leaders to design and implement enterprise governance controls that make unstructured content trusted, compliant, and AI‑ready. You will join the Enterprise Data Governance team and play a key role in advancing governance programs across unstructured metadata management, information lifecycle management, records and retention, security standards, cataloging, and stewardship enablement. You will also collaborate with structured data teams to drive consistent, end-to-end governance practices. Success in this role requires the ability to execute and evolve the data governance operating model, leverage governance tools to automate controls, and solve complex business challenges such as content sprawl, data discoverability, sensitivity labeling, retention, legal hold, and regulatory compliance. You will influence stakeholders, translate governance concepts for both technical and business audiences, and design scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment. This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO office. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, now or in the future. How You Will Make an Impact Data Governance & Unstructured Data Execute and evolve the enterprise data governance operating model across unstructured data (primary) and structured data (secondary), including data supporting AI and analytics use cases. Drive the rollout and adoption of unstructured data governance practices across key platforms (for example SharePoint, Teams, file shares, and cloud repositories), ensuring metadata quality, classification accuracy, retention readiness, and AI fitness. Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, privacy, and records management requirements across the information lifecycle. Provide oversight of Data Domain teams and review governance artifacts, including: data maps and content inventories, data issue tracking and remediation, metadata documentation and standards alignment, classification, retention, and procedural standards, access controls, security, and entitlements, audit, legal hold, and retention readiness. Partner with Data Owners, Stewards, and technology teams to design and implement workflows, dashboards, and automation for classification, labeling, metadata generation, retention controls, and eDiscovery readiness. Partner with HR Learning and Development to deliver governance, stewardship, and tooling training programs. Serve as a Collibra administrator, driving platform adoption, enabling users, and promoting consistent use of governance tools. Collaborate with governance technology vendors to influence roadmap enhancements across metadata, classification, lineage, and policy enforcement. Manage and evolve internal data products, including unstructured content repositories and AI-ready metadata assets such as taxonomies, labels, and ownership models. Unstructured Data & AI Enablement Partner with data platform and cloud engineering teams to define governance requirements and guardrails for AWS-based processes that extract, enrich, and register unstructured metadata. Design and operationalize governance standards within automated metadata pipelines, ensuring controls for classification, lineage, retention, and access are embedded by design. Enable trusted use of unstructured data across AI, analytics, and RAG-based solutions by ensuring proper metadata, governance workflows, and stewardship controls are in place. Align governance practices with AI intake, risk assessment, and inventory processes, ensuring traceability between data, use cases, and controls. Translate AI-ready data requirements into scalable governance patterns t
