Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities: Independently plan and perform control testing (Design Effectiveness and Operating Effectiveness) across business process and automated controls. Evaluate whether controls are appropriately designed to mitigate identified risks and are operating consistently as intended. Execute end-to-end assurance activities, including walkthroughs, sample testing, evidence review, and documentation of outcomes. Apply strong understanding of operational risk fundamentals to identify control gaps, weaknesses, and potential risk exposures. Evaluate control environments against controls management frameworks, ensuring alignment to risk appetite and regulatory expectations. Provide risk-based insights and articulate potential impact of control deficiencies. Assess automated controls, including system configurations, interface controls, and dependency on IT general controls (ITGCs). Engage with Business Control Officers (BCOs), control owners, and key stakeholders across Capital Markets functions. Lead constructive and critical conversations, providing effective challenge on control design, execution, and evidence quality. Influence stakeholders to address control deficiencies and strengthen the control environment. Communicate findings clearly, balancing professional skepticism with a collaborative approach. Key Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in control testing (business process and automated controls) within Capital Markets. Good understanding of Capital Markets, and products (including trading, post-trade and data services), with the ability to contextualise control assurance activities against product/operational flows, market infrastructure and associated risk exposures. Proven ability to independently execute design and operating effectiveness testing. Solid understanding of: Operational risk management frameworks Controls lifecycle, Automated control environments and system-driven controls Strong analytical and risk-based thinking capability. Ability to challenge effectively and constructively, with confidence in stakeholder interactions. Excellent communication and documentation skills, with audit-ready articulation of findings. High attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency of assurance outputs.
