About the role
The PR team's role is to elevate and protect Workday's reputation through bold, opinionated, and differentiated storytelling that moves the business forward. AI is rewriting how work gets done, the enterprise software category is being reshaped in real time, and Workday - with the data, trust, and platform to lead this shift - has the biggest story in enterprise software to tell. PR sits at the center of that moment. We're the team responsible for making sure the world understands what Workday is building, why it matters, and why we're the company defining the AI-powered future of work. This is a role for a media relations hound and storyteller who lives for landing the big story - at a moment when Workday has the biggest story in enterprise software to tell. As Director, Head of Corporate PR, you'll lead the team responsible for Workday's most strategic corporate narratives, from our AI leadership story, to Workday Ventures, the Workday Foundation, financial PR, and the executive narratives that shape how the world sees our company. This role will be instrumental in cementing Workday's position as the company changing the future of work with AI. You'll approach storymining like a journalist - sniffing out the angle, mapping the components to land a big story, finding the right reporter to tell it, preparing executives to deliver with impact, and driving results. You're not afraid to pick up the phone, and you're constantly thinking about how to insert Workday into the news cycle of the day. You thrive on proactive media and bring the same calm, sharp judgment to challenging media moments when the stakes are highest. About You The ideal candidate is a relentless media relations pro with deep, active relationships across tech, business, and financial outlets - and the instincts of a journalist when it comes to finding and shaping stories. You have a sharp read on today's dynamic media landscape - not just traditional outlets, but the influencers, Substack writers, podcasters, and independent voices increasingly shaping the enterprise tech conversation - and you know how to work across all of them to land a story. You see the AI moment for what it is - a generational opportunity to reshape an industry narrative - and you're energized by the chance to help lead it. You're proficient in the use of AI to sharpen storytelling and accelerate your work, and you know how to translate complex enterprise technology - agents, platforms, the future of work - into compelling, accessible stories. You're an excellent writer and trusted counselor, just as comfortable setting strategy and shaping narratives as you are rolling up your sleeves to land coverage. You've led teams, navigated challenging media situations with poise, and thrive in the fast-paced rhythm of a public tech company or high-growth startup.
