Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and regulatory support to generating facilities in Duke Energy's Midwest service area (Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky). The primary environmental compliance subject areas are Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), ambient monitoring systems, and stack emissions testing. General responsibilities include: Safely support environmental regulatory compliance for electric generating facilities in the Duke Energy Midwest service area, focusing on air emissions monitoring systems at Gibson Generating Station. Provide technical expertise regarding USEPA Emission Test Methods, legacy Acid Rain and New Source Performance Standard CEMS (SO2, NOx, CO2, CO, O2, Flow), Continuous Opacity Monitors (COMS), Mercury Continuous Emissions Monitors & Sorbent Traps, and Particulate Matter Continuous Emissions Monitors. Specific responsibilities may include: Ensure CEMS O&M processes and data quality adhere to regulatory requirements and Duke CEMS Program standards. Provide day-to-day CEM systems functional oversight, ensuring the accurate transfer of signals to/from the CEMS Data Acquisition Handling System (DAHS). Verify CEMS DAHS programming satisfies both regulatory standards and facility controls. Work Management: Collaborate with facility operations and project management to acquire resources to perform maintenance, install equipment improvements, and complete required tests. Stack Tests: Coordinate tests with station operations, ensure facility equipment protection and contractor safety, and verify compliant procedures are followed. Regulatory Submittals: Quality assure emissions data, prepare reports, and verify report content and calculations prior to submittal.
