Responsibilities

• You'll design and develop scalable backend services and APIs, primarily using TypeScript/Node.js and Python. Your work will include building microservices that power our smart monitoring platform and working with GraphQL to expose data to frontend applications.
• You'll collaborate closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features, contribute to architecture decisions, and help shape our engineering best practices. Code reviews and maintaining high-quality standards are a natural part of how we work together.
• Our Tech Stack
• We work with AWS cloud services (ECS/EKS, API Gateway, Lambda, Fargate), TypeScript/Node.js and Python, PostgreSQL and ClickHouse databases, Kafka for messaging, GraphQL APIs, and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• What you bring:
• We're looking for someone with around 3+ years of backend engineering experience who enjoys building reliable, scalable systems.
• Proven experience collaborating with third-party stakeholders and communicating effectively throughout projects. Demonstrated track record in developing and/or integrating external APIs.
• Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka, stream processing frameworks such as Flink, or time series databases like ClickHouse would be valuable in this role-but if you're excited to learn these, that counts too.

• How We Work
• We do Scrum with 2-week sprints and schedule most meetings in the mornings to preserve afternoon focus time. We work in a hybrid setup with regular office collaboration in Utrecht. You'll be part of multidisciplinary teams across Data, IoT, and Platform departments.
