We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a HISA (Horse Racing Integrity and Safety Authority) Coordinator. An individual could be successful if they possess the following. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and provide oversight of Oaklawn's racing integrity program to assure compliance with regulatory, policy and safety requirements impacting the racing program. Develop, revise as necessary and monitor implementation of Oaklawn's racing integrity plan, ensuring that it is conducted at the highest standards. Provide oversight and supervision of morning pre-race veterinary exams and Lasix administration Provide afternoon assistance to Association Veterinarian. Assist the Stewards and the Commission Veterinarian with out-of-competition and TCO2 testing. Assist the Director of Racing and Security Staff with regular inspections of jockeys and the jockeys' rooms, pony people, exercise riders, outriders, assistant starters, valets and others. Assist the Director of Racing and Stewards in the investigation of any incidents resulting in equine injuries. Maintains an attitude & philosophy consistent with the company Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal & external guests Punctual attendance required Ability to work required overtime. Experience in regulatory, compliance or enforcement environment Highly organized and detail oriented Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality Able to quickly adapt to changing priorities Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to maintain a calm, professional and friendly demeanor in all situations Ability to handle several tasks at the same time Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to read, write legibly, understand and speak English Must be able to work around horses Ability to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays Ability to stand for periods of time and work in inclement weather when necessary High School Graduate or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred Accredited stewards preferred Previous work with thoroughbred horses a must Previous racing experience SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job does not have supervisory responsibilities. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arkansas Racing License.
