ROLE SUMMARY The function will be responsible for liaising with a network of stakeholders to ensure academic business growth and business unit sustainability. (Academic HOD) The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Netcare Education's Faculty of Nursing and Ancillary Healthcare department and is accountable for the overall management of the Basic and Post Basic Nursing Academic and Clinical departments. The incumbent will further be responsible for the sustainable performance of the academic department within the Higher Education environment, ensuring alignment to the Netcare values and fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowerment. (HEQSF Aligned Nursing Programme HOD) The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Netcare Education's Faculty of Nursing and Ancillary Healthcare department and is accountable for the overall management of the HEQSF Aligned Nursing Academic department. The incumbent will further be responsible for the sustainable performance of the academic department within the Higher Education environment, ensuring alignment to the Netcare values and fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowerment. Postgraduate and Short Specialist Nursing Programme HOD) The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Netcare Education's Faculty of Nursing and Ancillary Healthcare department and is accountable for the overall management of the Post Basic Nursing Academic and Clinical department. The incumbent will further be responsible for the sustainable performance of the academic and clinical department within the Higher Education environment, ensuring alignment to the Netcare values and fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowerment. (HEQSF Aligned Clinical HOD) The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Netcare Education's Faculty of Nursing and Ancillary Healthcare department and is accountable for the overall management of the Clinical department. The incumbent will further be responsible for the sustainable performance of the clinical department within the Higher Education environment, ensuring alignment to the Netcare values and fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowerment. (Please delete that which is not applicable) KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE Operational process improvement and efficiencies - Managing operational activities of Netcare Education which will require alignment to the Netcare goals of broadening access to healthcare in South Africa specifically and to the vision of being a market leader in nursing and healthcare related education. - Provide input into the design of education related systems to streamline work processes and Technoligical enablement. - Ensure technological enablement with innovative as well as accepted business processes and research activities. - Manage, coordinate and ensure the facilitation and production of research within Netcare and Netcare Education and collaboratively with other institutions. - Ensure Netcare group compliance to and administration of to all relevant education and legislative bodies. BEST AND SAFEST PATIENT CARE Academic management - Develop, implement, monitor, and report on academic processes, procedures, systems, activities and any other related function. - Project Management of courseware development processes with lecturers and content authors. - Manage all nursing education and related education and training activities according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of Netcare and Netcare Education. - Manage, advise, and influence the delivery of cost-effective quality education SKILLS PROFILE EDUCATION Required - Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Midwife/ Professional Nurse - A Bachelors degree - A Master's Degree - A
