must be able to coordinate the organizational, physical, and overall plan of care for the departments involved in the Center. Overall supports the mission of the hospital and works collaboratively as a team player with others in the hospital and community involving the Female Athlete.

The Athletic Trainer is a certified, licensed professional who practices in the clinical setting as the liaison between the patient, the medical doctors and/or Sports Medicine team members involved in the assessment and care of acute or chronic youth athletic injuries and conditions. This includes following the patient care from the time of arrival to their time of departure and making sure all the patients and doctors needs are met to provide the best physician/patient experience as possible. Perform additional allied duties and provide patient care activities as needed in accordance with the licensure, scope of practice, standards and functions of his/her individual professional licensure. Included in the standards for appropriate clinical competency and documentation. Perform as a medical team member and participate in the functions and activities essential to operations. Be in compliance with medical/legal requirements for the sporting events or activities. Maintain knowledge of up-to-date techniques in the enhancement, prevention, and care of athletic injuries.
