Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care that aligns with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and performance expectations that support the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of MaineGeneral Health.
Lead, mentor, and develop nursing leaders and staff, fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, professional growth, and resident-centered care.
Direct and evaluate departmental operations, including resident care delivery, quality management, service recovery, and complaint resolution.
Oversee staffing operations, including workforce planning, recruitment, retention, orientation, performance management, and continuing education initiatives.
Monitor clinical quality indicators and regulatory metrics, partnering with leaders and staff to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective action plans when needed.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations, policies, and standards, including survey readiness and response activities.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support exceptional resident experiences, positive clinical outcomes, and effective care coordination.
Prepare, monitor, and manage departmental budgets, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources while supporting operational and clinical excellence.
Utilize data, quality measures, and operational reports to drive decision-making, improve performance, and support organizational goals.
Requirements
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of Maine.
Progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, Post-Acute Care, or a related healthcare setting.
Demonstrated success leading teams through change, growth, or performance improvement initiatives.
Strong knowledge of federal and state Long-Term Care regulations, survey processes, and resident care standards.
Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams through coaching, accountability, staff development, and relationship building.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively engage staff, residents, families, physicians, and organizational leaders.
Experience managing budgets, staffing, and operational performance preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
