Responsibilities

  • Champion a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and internal standards.

  • Monitor and audit all EHS processes, conduct accident investigations, implement corrective actions, and lead 8D problem-solving activities.
  • Track and report key EHS metrics to ensure transparency, alignment, and data-driven decision making.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness, developing instructions and delivering training for fire evacuation and other critical scenarios in line with MESH and local laws.
  • Collaborate with occupational health services and the company doctor to promote well-being and workplace health.
  • Represent the company with local authorities on all EHS matters, fostering productive relationships and facilitating information exchange.
  • Secure all right-to-operate permits, proactively monitoring renewals, adapting procedures to new regulations, and applying for new permits when required.
  • Manage the EHS budget and contribute to shaping the site's EHS strategy, partnering with Plant Management to drive a culture of safety and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Master Degree in EHS matters or Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial) or equivalent school background
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS roles within multinational or manufacturing environments.
  • RSPP certification according to Italian legislation.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes and manufacturing environments.
  • Solid understanding of Italian safety and environmental laws (D.Lgs. 81/08 and D.Lgs. 152/06).
  • Fluent English and Italian; additional European languages are a plus

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that our people and our site operate in asafe, healthy, and well-controlled environment, fully aligned with local and regional Environmental, Health & Safety regulations. You will lead, develop, and drive continuous improvements within the MESH framework, fostering a proactive safety culture across the plant. You will also be responsible for managing the Prevention and Protection Service (RSPP) in accordance with Italian legislation, acting as a trusted partner to employees and leaders to create a workplace where safety and wellbeing come first.
