General Description: **This is for the 2026-2027 school year** Provides educational assessments of students referred to the child study committee including classroom observations and the administration of diagnostic tests. Work is performed under general supervision within specific program objectives and policies. The employee communicates and coordinates with others to ensure program effectiveness. Essential Job Functions: Consults with teachers, administrators, parents and other professionals regarding student's educational needs. Reviews student educational records. Interprets behavioral observations which impact educational performance. Administers tests and interprets results. Compiles, maintains and files all educational reports and other documents as required. Communicates diagnostic findings to administrators, teachers, parents and other professionals. Provides input to the IEP committee regarding student's academic strengths and weaknesses based on educational testing. Works collaboratively with other assessment and school personnel to determine eligibility for special education services. Develops and maintains effective individual and group relationships with students, parents and professional colleagues. Maintains confidentiality of all information for the purpose of protection of students, staff, parents and district. Assists in the selection of assessment materials and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Budgetary Responsibility : N/A Report Preparation: Prepares detailed reports, outlining the various levels of academic attainment achieved by each individual student assessed. Equipment Operation: Uses standard office equipment and equipment related to educational area. Contacts: Contact with all levels of CCPS personnel, parents, guardians and various outside agencies to obtain information and to communicate diagnostic findings. Work Direction/Supervision : N/A Decision Making: Performs work tasks independently. Seeks supervisor's advice/guidance in unusual situations. Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities : N/A Physical Demands : Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to use a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear, understand speech and speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly at normal levels indoors and on the telephone. Frequent walking, standing, light lifting up to 25 pounds, and other limited physical activities are required. Occasional travel with students may be necessary. Work Environment: Duties performed typically in school settings to include: classroom; gym, cafeteria; auditorium; and recreational areas.
