Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, code, and maintain new and existing Python and Go microservices.
• Deploy and monitor services in a reproducible and scalable way.
• Crunch large amounts of data on the fly in API implementations and data processing jobs to master our complex datasets.
• Take ownership of our codebase and infrastructure, finding ways to improve performance and structure, including the use of AI tools to accelerate development.
• Ensure high-quality deliverables through extensive testing as part of your development process.
• Collaborate within product scrum teams to create high-performing and efficient APIs for new feature developments.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in a similar Backend Engineer role.
• Strong experience writing Python and/or Go for microservice architectures on a cloud platform like GCP (or any public cloud provider).
• Proven experience dealing with large datasets in a NoSQL environment and a passion for performance optimizations.
• Strong architectural thinking with a clear opinion on API design and architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools like Claude Code, with a positive attitude and a clear opinion on their application.
• A proactive, self-learning mindset with a strong sense of ownership and excellent communica
