About the Role: At Remitly, our mission is to transform lives by building trusted financial services that transcend borders. Each year, millions of customers send billions of dollars across 170+ countries, directly impacting families and communities worldwide. We're seeking a Senior Engineer to shape the tooling and infrastructure that power the next generation of scalable AI / ML products at Remitly. In this role, you'll collaborate with AI / ML, data science, and infrastructure teams to design systems that enable seamless AI / ML experimentation, training, deployment, serving, and evaluation. Your work will accelerate how quickly AI / ML ideas turn into customer impact-at a global scale. You'll report to the ML Platform Engineering Manager and play a critical role in defining and building the foundation for Remitly's future AI-driven products. You Will: Design and build backend services in Go on AWS to support high-scale AI / ML workloads. Develop and enhance core AI / ML platform offerings-including Feature Store, ML Orchestration, and Model Deployment & Serving-with a focus on performance, reliability, and usability. Partner closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and software engineers across multiple domains to deliver end-to-end solutions. Drive infrastructure optimization and automation, improving system scalability, reliability, and developer velocity. Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to align engineering initiatives with product and business goals. You Have: 8+ years of experience developing production applications, ideally in Go or Java. 2+ years of experience working on platform and / or infrastructure teams. Experience deploying and maintaining containerized applications and supporting systems that utilize containerization Strong cross-team collaboration skills, with experience working directly with product and stakeholder partners. Experience building and operating core ML infrastructure (e.g., model serving, ML orchestration, feature stores, research environments) Experience with modern CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins). Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $152,000 - $190,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
