Take on mechanical design and development of component parts of robotic assemblies
Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software for manufacturing and assembly
Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and integration of mechanical systems
Collaborate with electrical and software engineers on integrated solutions
Develop solutions from initial conceptual direction with minimal guidance
Support research staff by implementing hardware changes
Required Skills:
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5+ years' experience in mechanical design with focus on mechatronics
Proficiency in 3D CAD software with SolidWorks
Experience with actuators, sensors, and control systems
Ability to work in a rapid R&D environment
Ability to take abstract ideas and convert them into practical engineering solutions
Able to work with high autonomy
Bonus Skills:
Experience with 3d printing prototyping
Experience with Machine shop and safety practices
Knowledge of industrial automation and robotics
Familiarity with PLCs and microcontrollers
Familiarity with GD&T
Experience understanding and making electrical diagrams
A understanding of some common coding languages like C++ and python
Soldering skills
Experience in wire / cable manufacturing.
Salary Range:
$110,000-$120,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
