Additional Information
At KONE, we shape the future of cities. As a global leader in the lift and escalator industry, we provide innovative solutions across lifts, escalators, automatic doors, and maintenance and modernisation - adding value throughout a building's entire lifecycle.
We're currently looking for an Escalator Installation & Modernisation Improver to join our team.
What's an Improver?
Someone with the right attitude, some hands-on or technical foundation, and the drive to learn - but who isn't fully qualified yet.
Think of it as the stage between: Apprentice (learning basics) → Improver (building practical competence) → Qualified Engineer.
As an Escalator Improver, you'll support experienced engineers in the installation and modernisation of escalator systems nationwide. This is a site-based role where you'll work alongside skilled engineers to deliver safe, high-quality installations, learning KONE methods and industry best practice.
You'll assist with installing escalator components, preparing materials, supporting mechanical and electrical works, and ensuring tools and equipment are maintained correctly. You'll gain hands-on experience across a variety of escalator systems, helping to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You'll also play a key role in maintaining a safe working environment and supporting effective communication on-site with colleagues, contractors, and customers.
This is a development-focused role where you'll build strong technical skills, gain a solid understanding of safety standards, and work towards becoming a fully qualified Escalator Engineer.
The team is based in Keighley; however, you may be located anywhere in the UK, with occasional visits to Keighley required . You will also be required to work away from home on projects across the UK.
