AbilityPath is committed to recruiting and retaining diverse diversity among our staff teams.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to participants to help them achieve their goals; instruction may be community based, on-site or provided virtually.Utilize appropriate modification techniques to respond to challenging behaviors and support behavioral plans to increase engagementOversee case management and all related documentation and reportsSupervise and assist participants during volunteer activities, paid work, classes, and other community activitiesParticipate in agency functions and attend case management meetingsMaintain professional relationships and provide excellent customer service with external parties, families, care givers, and participantsOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION:Ability to provide engaging instruction to participants with various developmental levels, skill sets, and behaviorsAbility to respond to challenging behaviors and support behavioral plans to increase engagementAbility to work effectively on teams, including cross-departmental teamsKnowledge of standard computer systems including Outlook and WordAbility to work with detailed and confidential informationStrong oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with parents, caregivers, team, and external partnersDemonstrate a positive outlook and ability to adapt to changePassion for the mission, by believing in the abilities of people with disabilitiesAwareness of, sensitivity to, and competence in supporting people with developmental disabilitieseducation and work experience:Any combination of education or work experience that meets job expectations; including but not limited to:Education Degree in applicable fieldSpecialized certificateApplicable work or volunteer experienceHIRING REQUIREMENTS :3 years of a Valid California Driver's License/ID3 years of a Clean Driving Record (if applicable)Proof of negative TB test resultsVerification of physical clearancePassing a criminal fingerprint clearance21 years of age for driving positions18 years of age or olderPHYSICAL ACTIVITY:Accommodations made upon request to Human Resources:Ability to physically respond to adults with developmental disabilitiesAbility to lift/support at least 40 lbs as neededAbility to sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequentlyAbility to walk for extended periods of time and support adults with developmental disabilities on community outingsAbility to drive company vehicles to transport participantsAbility to sit and keyboard as neededEQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:Dental insuranceVision insurance401(k)Paid time offEquity / stock optionsPerformance bonus
