1-year related experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a large steam and refrigeration plant required to gain expertise necessary to troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and fully understand boiler equipment operation
Skill in data analysis and interpretation
Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions and operate and make minor repairs to boiler room equipment
Ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC equipment, commercial refrigerators, ice machines. Ability to accomplish light building maintenance repair.
Principles Duties and Responsibilities:
Observes boilers and related equipment (meters and gauges) continuously to ensure that operation is in accordance with specified instructions -
Makes scheduled inspections of all equipment and piping, listening for unusual sounds and checking for malfunctions. Make corrective repairs as needed and reports major problems to the supervisor -
Maintains a schedule log on all gauges and meters such as steam, water, gas and air pressure -
Tests water systems for proper residual chemical levels and adjusts by adding predetermined chemicals to systems, to prevent buildup of scale and corrosion
Monitors and makes necessary adjustments to Energy Management System (EMS) computer system per program -
Takes and relays service calls to Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Mechanic and logs same -
Performs housekeeping and painting duties in plant areas to provide a safe work environment -
Responds to service calls in all areas of GBMC campus as required -
Performs preventive maintenance on all plant equipment and systems as required

Pay Range
$30.06 - $49.29 Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
