Join our team as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. In this entry-level role, you will provide basic breastfeeding support, encouragement, and nutrition education to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers enrolled in the WIC program. Support is primarily delivered through a texting platform, phone calls, and occasional clinic interactions. This is a peer-to-peer support role and does not provide medical advice. Complex concerns are referred to lactation consultants, healthcare providers, or other qualified staff. Advanced lactation credentials (CLC or IBCLC) are not required. Work Schedule Monday-Thursday, with rotating weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) coverage Approximately 10-12 hours per week Work occurs in intervals (about every 6 hours) between 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Intermittent position Training Schedule 4-week training period Approximately 12-14 hours per week Combination of in-person and remote training Completion of required State WIC breastfeeding, nutrition, and participant-centered education modules
