About the role

In this role, you will drive business growth and expand market presence across key European tire and rubber markets. As Business Development Manager (m/f/d) Tire Europe, you will identify and capitalize on strategic opportunities, cultivate strong customer relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate revenue growth, enhance profitability, and support long-term business expansion. Responsibilities Include: Develop and execute strategic business development plans for Europe to achieve growth targets. Identify new markets, emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and untapped customer opportunities across the region. Conduct market sizing, segmentation, and customer value analyses to inform commercial strategy. Provide strategic input to senior leadership on market conditions, competitive threats, and regional priorities. Build and expand relationships with key customers, distributors, partners, and industry stakeholders. Support EU commercial team key account development, including strategic planning, joint development projects, and long-term value creation. Deliver compelling commercial proposals tailored to customer needs and technical requirements. Manage multiple NPI projects, NPI rollout documentation, and NPI customer application packages. Track, forecast, and report on sales performance across the region. Drive margin improvement through smart pricing strategies and value-based selling. Work closely with marketing, product management, application development, and R&D teams to align commercial efforts with technical capabilities. Provide customer and market desirability feedback to guide NPI development and innovation. Coordinate with product management, quality, supply chain, operations, and customer service to ensure flawless execution and customer satisfaction. Represent the company at trade fairs, conferences, and industry events across Europe. Ensure compliance with regional legal, regulatory, safety, and commercial practices. Maintain detailed knowledge of regional macroeconomic, political, and regulatory factors affecting business interests. NPI development - building a strategic plan which is aligned with the defined growth NPIs and supports growth of our Tire and OFS businesses. Leading of NPI Projects Develop a comprehensive understanding of our customers' key trends, application and manufacturing technologies, industry regulations, and our customers' position in the value chain. Drive activities such as new product launches, pricing, customer presentations, bid support and customer user groups leveraging global Marketing organization. Align with Marketing, Sales and Technology leaders. Authority for directing NPI project team members and related functions. Develop 'go to market' strategy and execution plan at customers. Project strategy and roadmap definition. Validation partner selection. Define project scope, project plan incl. milestones and timing. Determination of new product resourcing for given strategic target markets. Development of market strategies and execute to achieve business goals. NPI Sales ROI, %Growth Project Milestones / Deliverables / Commercial Launches Business Segment EBIDTA % Individual NPI MOM%, MOM$, and SGM Interacts within the segment with: Product Management, Regional Sales, Technology, Applications Development and Global Marketing. Interacts across the organization with: Operations, Quality, Supply Chain/Logistic, Process Technology, Product Stewardship, IP/Legal, Information Technology, MarComm, Six Sigma, Sourcing/Procurement, CMO und Business Process Owners (Strategic Marketing und Commercial Processes, Supply Chain BPOs).

Requirements

  • The following are required for the role
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 10 years of tire/rubber business and/or application development, sales, or commercial leadership experience in European region.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue through innovation and establishing new business in the tire/rubber sector.
  • Experience working in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Strong commercial acumen with strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders across countries and cultures.
  • Self-starter mentality with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Regular travel across Europe (Minimum 30%).
  • Fluent English required; additional European languages (German, French, Italian, Spanish, etc.) preferred; additional APAC languages (Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.) also highly advantageous.
