Job Description: At TD Securities, the Investment Banking Credit function is an integral part of the full suite of services we offer under Investment Banking. Our Investment Banking professionals provide corporate and institutional clients with capital markets and banking advice and transaction executions worldwide. Associates in our Credit groups have the opportunity to gain exposure to various industries, products and client groups. Working closely with the Investment Banking teams, Associates support financing requirements to specific industry groups including Communications & Media, Forest products and International Banking. Associates are assigned to a specific industry group at the commencement of their placement. In this capacity you will: Research and analyze clients' financial metrics, industry and market data; Construct detailed models that help establish suitable capital structures, financial covenants, and sensitivity to key variables; Compile data through due diligence and prepare comprehensive reviews that analyze transactions and client risks; Analyze deal structures; Assist with deal negotiations and documentation; and Interact with clients and credit adjudicators. Review and analyze reporting and compliance of existing clients and developing industry trends. The Associates in CIB Credit reviews mortgage loans for underwriting quality to assess risk as required by OCC and other regulators. Depth & Scope Generally leads a team focused on credit risks on assigned reviews and generally assumes the lead position on the review, providing supervision and assignments to team members as Auditor In Charge as well as reviewing work papers completed by staff and drafting report Completes loan reviews directly which involves reviewing assigned loans from a spreadsheet; seek out underwriting errors and/or process concerns; report findings or that there are no findings; mark loan as reviewed/completed and generated report Responsible for time and staffing budgets for upcoming reviews Plans reviews Responsible for contact with management regarding scope, status, and findings Works at direction of Audit Manager Performs testing procedures for more critical areas of reviews Provides on-the-job training for staff Supervises findings follow up tasks with management and staff Is a subject matter expert in at least one area of discipline Works independently but receives assistance/coaching from the manager Participates and/or leads assigned special projects Provides feedback on staff performance on a project basis Updates, revises, and improves existing review procedures and programs Adds value through consultative interactions with business line management Education & Experience: 3+ years of related experience Proven oral and written communication skills Proven knowledge of audit / loan review principles and practices Coaching and counseling skills Ability to delegate work to others Strong decision-making and follow through ability Solid PC skills (MS Office Suite) Works well independently and with others Proven analytical skills Ability to respond to shifting priorities quickly Proven team working experience Ability to build and maintain relationships with peers and management Strong knowledge of laws and regulations governing the banking industry Certification highly preferred or willingness to pursue certification
