The department offers an interdisciplinary doctoral degree in Healthcare Leadership, a Master of Science in Physician Assistant (PA) studies, and a graduate certificate in Extreme Medicine. Our flagship program in Physician Assistant studies and was Established in 1971, the physician assistant program and has a long-standing history of, and expertise in, the education and training of physician assistants. The PA program is in close proximity to Boston's major academic medical centers and was the first generalist PA training program in the nation to offer a master's degree in 1985. This rigorous, highly integrated curriculum offers our students the opportunity to obtain broad generalist training that is designed to prepare them for successful employment in all fields of clinical practice. The Department of Medical Sciences is recruiting an Open Rank Clinical Professor in the Physician Assistant Program on our Boston campus. The Open Rank Clinical Professor is responsible for teaching in the didactic component of the Physician Assistant Program curriculum, ensuring the high educational and medical quality of the didactic curriculum, program organization and administration, and student education and mentoring. The position also carries expectations for scholarship, including contributions to the advancement of PA education and clinical practice, as well as service to the program, university, and broader professional community. The Open Rank Clinical Professor will assist in maintaining accreditation standards and participating in any activities necessary to maintain Northeastern at the forefront of PA education. The position is a 52-week, 1.0 FTE, non-tenure track faculty position. Responsibilities will include teaching graduate courses, engagement in scholarly activities, and participating in departmental, college, and university service.
