Students will also contribute to the planning and operation of the Thomas P. Kelly Student Art Gallery and develop skills related to gallery maintenance, programming, community engagement, and future exhibition scheduling. The ideal candidate should have professional experience in curatorial practice, gallery administration, museum or nonprofit arts programming, exhibition design, or a closely related field. Teaching experience at the college level is preferred. Candidates should be able to connect contemporary curatorial theory with practical exhibition-making and mentor students in collaborative, professional-level projects. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching class sessions, assigning readings and written work, leading critiques and discussions, supervising student curatorial projects, coordinating hands-on gallery activities, evaluating student work, and maintaining regular communication with students and the department. Minimum qualifications include an MFA, MA, PhD, or equivalent professional experience in curatorial studies, art history, museum studies, studio art, arts administration, or a related field.
