Conducts and oversees internal corporate investigations.
Represents the Company in administrative actions, including EEOC, California Civil Rights Department, DLSE, OSHA, etc. Responds to government and third party notices, subpoenas, and allegations of wrongdoing.
Directly engages with regulators, including law enforcement agencies.
Researches employment law issues and provides legal opinion in order to respond to business needs and inquiries.
Exercises careful judgment when preparing legal memorandum and other communications that are appropriately concise and understandable to the business units and the Legal Department.
Responds to third-party communications, including demand letters and administrative investigative complaints.
Advises management on the legal implications of current and proposed laws, actions and policies.
Reviews business forms, notices and other legal documents for compliance with applicable legal requirements.
Provides proactive risk avoidance counseling, including developing business-oriented and cost-efficient solutions, and implementing policies and procedures to avoid future litigation.
Actively partners with and manages outside counsel on high exposure initiatives, identifies and recommends the retention of outside counsel when necessary, and actively controls such costs.
Enforces Club Billing Guidelines with outside counsel and carefully scrutinizes and approves outside counsel bills.
Requirements
JD Required from an accredited law school.
Minimum 5 years practicing labor and employment law with a national law firm or in a corporate legal department. Required.
Member of the CA State Bar; must be in good standing.
Proficiency with standard Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
May require travel within the state and occasional travel to other states for meetings, conferences and training.
Highest level of ethics and integrity.
Certified Legal Professional - National Association of Legal Assistants Required
Excellent oral and written communication skills, trial and arbitration skills, deposition and negotiation skills, excellent teamwork, initiative and client relationship skills, and a commitment to ethical conduct.

The starting pay range for this position is:
$160,500.00 - $214,100.00 Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
