Your Opportunity Credit & Incentives is a government funding program for Research & Development . As a Senior Consultant , you will be part of a dynamic professional services delivery team and work closely with the BDO team and with clients' financial and technical team members. The ideal candidate for this role has a background in manufacturing, natural resources and clean technology/environmental sector and is interested in pursuing a career as a client facing Senior Consultant with future growth opportunities within the practice. You will be part of a national a nd Vancouver regional team of over 80 scientists , engineers and accountants. As part of BDO's Tax Service Line, you will assist clients with C&I tax credit claims by navigating the application process and ensuring our clients receive the maximum benefit under the program. You may be involved with other program funding opportunities as well, with the appropriate support. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Support SR&ED client engagements focusing on the manufacturing, natural resources and clean technology/environmental industries, while also collaborating with BDO SR&ED industry teams across the country Engage and maintain relationships with clients becoming a trusted and influential advisor, providing exceptional customer service to the firm's clients, by providing timely and responsive consulting services Examine client operations and processes through interviewing of technical and financial personnel to determine eligibility for various grants, tax credits and funding programs. Through this process, you will develop the appropriate funding methodology to maximize tax incentives available to each client Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis Provide clients with professional and timely advice related to documentation, and its compliance with SR&ED program requirements Gather internal and external client resources utilization, and assist with costing activities that are corresponding with technical descriptions Assist clients during technical reviews with the CRA How do we define success for your role? Eng , B.Sc., M.Sc. or PhD) You are a recognized subject matter expert and have 2+ years of C&I experience You have excellent technical writing skills, as well as strong editorial capabilities You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills The expected range of compensation for this role is $68,000 to $100,000 annually.
