Make an impact for the Northland transport system for our customers Liaise with local Civil Defence Emergency Management teams on network impacts Connect and influence to keep customers and commercial enterprise front-and-centre in decisions Permanent, full-time position - Whangarei Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity As Journey Manager, you will take a lead on complex issues involving customer journeys across the Northland network. You'll look beyond the day-to-day operations of the transport system to show leadership on behalf of all road users, creating a joint approach to how we manage programmed works and improve experiences for our customers. You'll build strong partnerships to keep key community stakeholders engaged and informed, and ensure our plans align - balancing delivery with customer impact and using your problem-solving skills to help navigate this. Working with the local team you will collaborate to continuously improve how the transport system operates as a whole and ensure that the region is well prepared for responding to local and national emergencies. As part of a national team dispersed around New Zealand, you will combine a national focus with deep knowledge of local issues and a strong local presence. Appointment base salary is from $133,632 - $141,056 depending on relevant knowledge and experience About you | Ko wai koe To be successful in this role you will bring: Proven stakeholder management experience and ability to influence outcomes Strong problem solving - able to navigate complex issues Strong facilitation skills, translating technical insights into practical solutions Experience in emergency management or high-pressure decision environments A passion for the region and for delivering the right outcomes for people and communities You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
