AECOM is seeking an Archaeology Technician (Archaeology Technician II) to join our California Cultural Resources team in Oakland, CA. This is a part-time, on-call position meaning workdays and times will be determined on an as-needed project basis. The Archaeological Technician primarily performs fieldwork under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Field Director and/or Principal Investigator. Ideally, candidates should be northern California based as field projects will primarily be in the greater Bay Area. Candidates will need flexibility to travel overnight for field work sessions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff. Field-based tasks including pedestrian survey, test excavation, and data recovery. Will also complete data collection on web-based applications and/or field notes and photographs. Other activities may include assisting with field form completion, data entry, and preparation of site records. Potential for artifact cataloging and analysis as needed. Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.
