The Impact You'll Make in this Role As an USAC Payroll Analyst, you will contribute to the success of a critical organization by leveraging your experience to identify opportunities, solve complex issues, and help drive the team forward through creative and sustainable solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with HR colleagues, IT, Hire-To-Retire (HTR), and external partners to enhance payroll operations and improve employee experience. Here, you will make an impact by: Identify opportunities and lead implementation efforts for process improvements and automation in payroll and associated processes, while leveraging a thorough understanding of U.S. and Canada payroll processes to drive improvements and enhance overall efficiency within the payroll department. Collaborating with Compensation, Benefits, HTR, IT and external partners to assist in driving new Workday functionality and/or integration design and execution Analyze data issues for building long-term sustainable solutions Demonstrate expertise in merger and acquisition activities as they relate to payroll processes, including supporting integration efforts, identifying impacts, and ensuring a smooth transition within payroll operations. Maintain knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements to ensure processes are compliant Seek, share, and apply external trend knowledge and relevant information to further enhance Payroll processes Managing key projects as assigned Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and three (3) years of experience in Payroll, Human Resources, and/or Finance in a private, public, government or military environment OR High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) and seven (7) years of experience in Payroll, Human Resources, and/or Finance in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Workday, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation. Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
