Our national Building Engineering team are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team in Sydney. You will be involved in supporting electrical design across a variety of sectors including defence, health, sports infrastructure, education, data centre and aviation projects. Lead the design and delivery of sophisticated electrical engineering solutions across health, defence, transport, data centres, sports facilities, and other complex building projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Act as the senior technical authority on major projects, providing expert review, guidance, and oversight of electrical design, installation strategies, and system integration. Oversee multiple electrical projects concurrently, balancing technical rigor, program delivery, and client expectations to achieve successful outcomes. Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into broader building services, offering technical insight on lighting, power distribution, fire and life safety, and low-voltage systems. Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical excellence, innovative thinking, and professional development across the team. Ideally, 9+ years' experience in Electrical Engineering, gained within a Building Services consultancy, senior contracting role, or government department, with proven expertise in delivering technically complex projects across diverse sectors. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and RPEV/RPEQ registration preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple technical projects simultaneously, applying advanced electrical design expertise to ensure quality and innovation. Deep knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes, and electrical systems, with strong capability to provide technical leadership and mentor engineers and clients alike. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for mentoring, developing, and supporting engineers at earlier stages of their careers Previous Defence experience is strongly preferred, with nuclear industry experience highly regarded. Please note, due to the nature of the projects Australian Citizenship is required, with previous or current defence clearance highly regarded.
