About the role
We are seeking an experienced Crewing Executive to join our Fleet Division. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end crew recruitment and deployment process to ensure effective and timely manning of vessels. You will work closely with crewing agencies, internal stakeholders, and vessel teams to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and workforce readiness.
Responsibilities
- Crew Recruitment Management
- Maintain strong relationships and regular communication with crewing agencies to support recruitment needs.
- Screen, evaluate, and shortlist candidates to ensure they meet company standards and vessel requirements.
- Verify crew qualifications, certifications, and compliance with STCW and company requirements.
- Liaise with manning agents on crew contract matters and support negotiation processes when required.
- Crew Deployment & Manning Operations
- Monitor validity of crew certifications, contracts, and work permits, ensuring timely renewals and compliance.
- Coordinate crew changes and ensure vessels are adequately manned at all times.
- Develop and maintain deployment schedules and crew movement plans based on operational needs.
- Update crew manifests accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support superintendents in resolving manning-related issues.
- Payroll & Crew Administration
- Manage and process crew payroll accurately and in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Handle day-to-day administrative matters including leave management, grievance handling, and disciplinary documentation.
- Escalate complex crew-related issues to senior management when necessary.
- Digital Port & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee digital port clearance processes and ensure compliance with relevant port regulations.
- Monitor Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) circulars and assess their impact on crewing operations.
- Ensure all crewing activities comply with applicable maritime regulations and company standards.
- Job Requirements
- Diploma in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-3years of experience in crewing, maritime operations, or a related role.
- Good understanding of international maritime regulations, including the STCW Convention.
- Familiarity with Singapore maritime regulations and MPA requirements.
- Proficiency in Malay is an advantage due to crew demographics.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong relationship-building capability.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using digital systems and databases.
- Proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills and a professional work ethic.
