We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced BIM Lead on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Engineering Director - the responsibilities and personal specification for the position are outlined below: Lead the BIM delivery for all Designer Group UK projects Provide BIM cost advice for work winning, based on project specific deliverables and programme. Where necessary, create models / sketches / drawings to be included within tender presentations / submissions. On successful tenders, evaluate optimum BIM procurement route and package enquiries to send to market. Level returns and present recommendation to the Project Director. In conjunction with the Project Directors, develop the co-ordination / drawing programme to incorporate resource levels and key issue dates into an integrated project programme across all projects. In conjunction with the Document Controllers, implement the BIM workflow on all projects to ensure that the BIM co-ordinators have the necessary information to work efficiently and effectively. Provide advice to the project teams on all BIM and co-ordination issues relating to the Designer Group sub-contractor installations. Check and monitor technical quality of all BIM output internally or external and compliance with BIM Standards, Methods and Procedures and 'best practice' standards. Facilitate and chair co-ordination workshops as and where necessary or required by the specific project needs and oversee the production and management of clash detection reports such in Revizto , Solibri and be part of any BIM information requirements with BIM collab etc . Assist, where requested, the Project Surveyors in the development of the variation account where claims arising from co-ordination change have occurred. Provide regular reports to the Engineering Director on progress across and any commercial issues or delays in drawing production on designated project. On limited occasions, there will be a requirement to undertake modelling / drawing production works on limited areas of projects: o Co-ordinate and produce drawings for mechanical, public health, electrical services and BWIC in accordance with BSRIA BG6 2018 Stage 5 to an agreed programme using Autodesk AEC collection. o - Carry out all other drawing duties as required including (but not limited to) sketches, installation & fabrication, modules, skid and record drawings o - Produce /amend information in accordance with project standards, BEP etc. o - Ensure competent use of the REVIT COBie plugin to provide accurate COBie outputs from model. Minimum 5 years experience as a BIM Manager or similar role Experience as a supervisor / manager. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems from a design and construction perspective Good knowledge of the current mechanical, ventilation, domestic, public health and electrical systems design and installation standards. Fully conversant with Autodesk AEC suite of platforms (Revit, AutoCAD, Navis, BIM 360, etc) Knowledge of mechanical subcontract CDP works - eg, fire alarm, sprinklers, VRF / AC, smoke control, BMS and EMS systems. Ability to read drawings and understand technical papers and documents. Able to create technical documents, comment on technical drawings and assist in engineering solutions and design.
