About the role
We are seeking a Build DevOps engineer for our Chorus offering. You will be collaborating as part of a large build team based across multiple locations. The key responsibility is to assist the hosting and technical deliveries to enable the enhancement and delivery of Chorus workflow based development following Chorus Build standards. What You Will Get To Do: Dev Ops Responsibility Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources across multiple environments. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automating build, test, and deployment processes. Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency. Monitor system performance and reliability, proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure uptime and availability. Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in DevOps and cloud computing, and evaluate their potential impact on our infrastructure. Release Management/Technical Responsibility Oversee parallel build for releases and client builds. Accountable for delivering solutions which support the business requirements ensuring adherence to design and coding standards. Produce technical designs when required and review the technical designs produced by other staff, recommending improvements or alternative courses of action. Ensure Build is not completed upon prescribed solutions. Act as a primary technical support resource within the Build team, providing a source of technical expertise. Advise on the acquisition of hardware/software and tools as relevant. Act as a point of reference for any Technical related area, including defect management. Lead Build/Test workshops. Working Agile, work closely together with the team to ensure all analysis and build meets requirements and departmental standards/best practice whilst ensuring standards are adhered to and optimisation opportunities are shared. Ensure that any documents which related to the release build aligned to the SDLC process. Responsible for Estimation (HLE)/Design to lead development on a number of projects within a release. Regularly communicate handover between UK and BKK through the phone. Represent the Chorus Build Team within meetings and workshops within Senior Management team and external client forums. Ensure the implementation and adherence to the SS&C Security Policy. Ownership of documentation and maintenance of support guides to describe program development, logic, coding and corrections. Liaise with internal SS&C users, developers, business analysts, IT change management and project management when required. Ability to articulate technical solutions appropriately to the audience/recipient whether Business or Technical focused. Approve design outlining steps required from inception to completion including analysis, review and development through to delivery. Perform quality reviews to ensure that the development output conforms to the required standards, providing feedback when necessary. Project Management Responsibility Consistently deliver Chorus deliverables to agreed schedules without compromising quality, including parallel projects. Support releases for large projects. Provide timely updates to Senior Build Manager/Head of Build reporting on team/individual progress. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to gather and understand client requirements, delivery schedules & assigned deliverables including any changes to these. Analyse & promptly communicate required effort, achievability, dependencies & technical risks to the Senior Build Manager/Head of Build. Attend internal and external meetings representing Chorus helping to formulate solutions for requirements. Regularly communicate progress on assignments against agreed schedules. Alert the Senior Management team well in advance where a deliverable is not achievable or a slippage is likely to occur, allowing sufficient time for a sensible course of action. Ensure that any documents which related to the project build are provided.
