Job Description The Music Therapist will be a part of the multidisciplinary team for clients enrolled in the Psychiatric Day Treatment program at Overstory Health and is responsible for running the "Creative" group session . The music therapist is responsible for leading and documenting music therapy interventions and client responses in the electronic medical record and will align with client's individual treatment goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one hour music therapy groups 2x per week from 1-2pm with clients
  • Document the music therapy intervention and individual client notes based on their responses
  • Communicate to the multidisciplinary team about engagement in the groups and clinical observations
  • Develop music therapy lesson plans and share with the clinic director to ensure alignment with mission, vision, and values and ensure appropriateness at this level of care
  • Experience/Skills Required for Success
  • 1+ years experience doing music therapy
  • Experience in hospital setting, intensive outpatient, or partial hospital setting preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in music therapy and/or music therapist certification
  • Highly organized, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with mental health conditions including co-curring substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, and complex mood disorders
