Requirements

  • Completion of a Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship program or equivalent experience e. maintenance technician, welding technician, tool technician, die maintenance technician

Tool and die makers are skilled crafters working in a manufacturing industry. Our Tool and die makers work also in de production and run a line. You're skilled craftspeople who typically learn their trade through a combination of academic coursework and with substantial period of on-the-job training that is functionally an apprenticeship. You make jigs, fixtures, dies, gauges , machine tools other tools used in manufacturing processes Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of tools and dies Design and build tools and jigs using various machines and tools Inspect finished tools and dies for accuracy and quality Repair and maintain existing tools and dies Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve tool/die and roll forming issues Ensure that all tools and dies meet safety standards Maintain accurate records of tool and die maintenance and repairs Set up and install dies in press machines according to specifications Set coils on mandrel and feed up and in to die Adjust and align dies and roll forming cassettes for optimal operation and product quality Conduct trial runs after die setup to ensure proper functioning and output Inspect tooling and equipment before and after use to detect defects or wear Recommend minor repairs and maintenance on dies and related machinery Work closely with machine operators, maintenance staff, and quality control to support production goals Troubleshoot die and press problems to minimize downtime Operate overhead crane You're also responsible for running the production line
