What you'll achieve As the Automation Engineer , you will play a key role in shaping and scaling our automation landscape across the Diagnostic Imaging portfolio. This role is responsible for designing robust automation frameworks, integrating them into delivery pipelines, and continuously improving automated validation processes. By driving a strong automation strategy and enabling reusable, sustainable solutions, the position supports faster feedback cycles and higher product quality. The ultimate objective is to contribute to a reliable, scalable, and continuously validated software delivery ecosystem . You will: Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks for web applications built on microservice architecture. Develop and maintain automated end-to-end, integration, and API test suites using modern tools such as Playwright. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous validation of product quality. Collaborate with DevOps teams to enable automated execution in containerized and Kubernetes-based environments. Drive automation strategy across multiple products, ensuring reusability, maintainability, and performance. Contribute to performance and load testing automation in collaboration with dedicated performance initiatives. Improve test reliability, reduce flaky tests, and optimize execution times. Support the shift-left approach by enabling developers to write and maintain automation where appropriate. Analyse system design and architecture to identify automation opportunities and reduce manual effort. Document automation frameworks, standards, and best practices to ensure long-term scalability. Here's what you'll need to succeed: Essential Requirements A university degree in computer science (or related degree) and/or equivalent work experience 4+ years of professional experience in software development or test automation engineering Experience building automation frameworks for web applications in microservice environments Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines Experience working in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience collaborating across Development, QA, and DevOps teams Experience contributing to automation strategy beyond individual test case implementation Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) in professional software engineering environments Strong programming skills in JavaScript / TypeScript Solid knowledge of CI/CD concepts and quality gates Ability to design scalable, maintainable automation architectures Strong understanding of API, integration, and end-to-end testing principles Ability to analyze system design and identify automation gaps Clear and confident communication skills Good English skills, both written and spoken Desirable Requirements Exposure to AI-driven or agent-based approaches to improve development or automation workflows Experience in performance and load testing Curiosity about emerging AI and automation tooling, and a drive to bring new approaches into the team We are Dedalus, come join us Dedalus is committed to providing an engaging, rewarding work experience that reflects the passion our employees bring to our mission of helping clinicians and nurses deliver better care to their served communities.
